***(Synopsis) The Ninth MacDuff Brooks Flyfishing Mystery. On a beautiful fall day along Mill Creek in Paradise Valley, Montana, Lucinda and Macduff are enjoying coffee when they see the creek suddenly begin to flow a grungy bright orange. They head up Mill Creek to investigate and enter a maze of trouble involving some unpleasant FBI agents and a spillage at an old gold mine. When they head cross country and reach their Florida cottage for the winter, they learn that a new AP writer, Lorna Dubois, wants to write about Macduff’s early years, which he has carefully avoided discussing since he became Macduff Brooks a decade and a half ago. While Lucinda and Macduff stay in Florida for the winter, Dubois heads to Montana to begin research for her article. Lucinda and Macduff unwisely visit Gainesville and drop by the law college where unknown events are occurring that may affect the couple. While in Florida the FBI becomes more intrusive into Lucinda’s and Macduff’s lives, trying to search both their Florida cottage and Montana cabin.
